SNYDER ANNOUNCES FUNDS TO IMPROVE AIRPORTS IN LITTLE ROCK, CLINTON, AND CONWAY

WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation has allocated nearly $5 million to improve three airports in the 2nd Congressional District.

"These funds will help Adams Field, Clinton Municipal, and Cantrell Field better serve the needs of the community as well as contribute to the area's economic health," Congressman Snyder said.

Adams Field in Little Rock will receive $4.6 million to extend the taxiway and improve the runway safety area. Runway safety will be improved by the installation of an Engineered Material Arresting System and by the realignment of Taxiway "A" to provide a standard geometric taxiway layout.

Clinton Municipal Airport in Clinton will receive $145,800 to conduct an airport master plan study and to install weather-reporting equipment. The airport master plan project will determine the best course of action for future airport development. The Automated Weather Observation System installation project will improve airport safety by providing current local weather conditions for the aviation community.

Dennis F. Cantrell Field in Conway will receive $100,000 to conduct an environmental study. The environmental assessment and cost benefit analysis for a new airport will determine the feasibility of replacing the existing airport.
