WINNER OF 2003 CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION ATTENDS CAPITOL HILL RECEPTION WASHINGTON, D.C. - Kristi Kelch of Oak Grove High School in North Little Rock, winner of Arkansas's 2nd Congressional District 2003 Congressional High School Art Competition, attended a Capitol Hill reception today honoring her work and the works of the other art competition winners from across the country.
Her family, David and Jennifer Kelch, and her art teacher, Renee James, accompanied Kristi to the Noon reception at the Cannon House Office Building.
The annual Congressional High School Art Competition gives one student from each Congressional District in the nation the opportunity to have his or her work displayed in the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Kristi's winning entry is a work in acrylic entitled "Self Portrait." It will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol from June 2003 until May 2004.
