SNYDER ANNOUNCES HOUSE APPROVAL OF LRAFB, PINE BLUFF ARSENAL PROJECTS

WASHINGTON, D.C. - United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the House passed last night the Military Construction Appropriations bill (H.R. 5011), which includes funding for projects benefiting the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville and the Pine Bluff Arsenal. The House previously approved the funding in this year's Defense Authorization Act.

The legislation includes nearly $50 million in funds for the following projects:

  • Improve Fuselage Trainer Facility, LRAFB, $2.5 million
  • Engine Storage Facility, LRAFB, $2.1 million
  • Maintenance Trainer Facility, LRAFB, $8.1 million
  • Two Bay Hangar, LRAFB, $12.9 million
  • Air National Guard, Operations and Training Facility, LRAFB, $5.1 million
  • Non-Stockpile Ammunition Demilitarization Shop, PBA, $18.9 million

"This is just the latest show of support by the Department of Defense and the House for our state's military installations," Congressman Snyder said. "The Senate has yet to act, but this vote marks another important step in getting these projects funded."

The bill now goes to the Senate for approval.
