SNYDER ANNOUNCES FUNDS FOR LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT WASHINGTON, D.C. - United States Representative Vic
Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the United States Department of Education
has awarded $991,767 to the Little Rock School District under the Smaller
Learning Communities Program.
"The goals of this project are worthwhile and I am pleased to see Little
Rock School district receive some much-needed assistance in achieving them,"
Congressman Snyder said.
The funds will be used at Hall and McClellan High Schools to implement
comprehensive reforms including the creation of an organizational structure
to reduce isolation and promote collaboration among faculty, students, parents,
and the community; and a restructuring of curricula and instructional practices
to help students be more engaged academically and better prepared to pursue
post-secondary options.
