WASHINGTON, D.C.—United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $2.5 million to the Saline County/Watts Field Airport in Benton to construct a new airport.

The current airport does not conform to Federal Aviation Association (FAA) standards. These funds will be used to replace the existing airport with a new facility constructed to FAA design standards.

“I am pleased to see Saline County receive these much-needed funds to construct a new airport,” said Congressman Snyder. “A new airport will mean increased safety and efficiency for the flying public in Saline County and all of Central Arkansas.”
