Congressmen Berry, Snyder, Ross To Hold Press Conference on Medicare Prescription Drug Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. - United States Representatives Vic Snyder (AR-02), Marion Berry (AR-01), and Mike Ross (AR-04) will hold a press conference Saturday, July 19 at 3pm to highlight the shortcomings of the Medicare Prescription Drug bill that passed the House last month. The three Arkansas Congressmen believe that better legislation must be developed in order to truly benefit the people of Arkansas.

In the early morning hours of June 27th, the House of Representatives passed a GOP-backed prescription drug benefit over the objection of House Democrats, including Reps. Berry, Ross and Snyder. This legislation does not provide beneficiaries with a meaningful guaranteed benefit, disadvantages seniors in rural areas, and actually prohibits the Secretary of HHS from using the purchasing power of 40 million seniors to negotiate for lower drug prices.
