SNYDER ANNOUNCES FUNDS TO HIRE OFFICERS IN GUY, NLR

LITTLE ROCK, AR-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the United States Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) has awarded $248,545 under the COPS Universal Hiring Program (UHP) to the Guy Police Department in Faulkner County and Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock.

Guy Police Department was awarded $69,073 to hire one full-time officer and one part-time officer, and Pulaski Technical College was awarded $179,472 to hire two full-time officers.

"I am pleased to see these worthy institutions receive some much-needed assistance in preventing crime and protecting the citizens of Guy and North Little Rock," Congressman Snyder said.

UHP grants provide up to 75 percent of the total cost of salary and benefits of each new officer over a period of three years, up to a maximum of $75,000 per officer.
