SNYDER ANNOUNCES $1.8 MILLION STATE GRANT FOR .08 BAC LAW

WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the United States Department of Transportation has awarded an incentive grant to the state of Arkansas in the amount of $1,849,633 as an award for its .08 percent blood alcohol concentration (BAC) law.

"Arkansas has many good laws to reduce the number of drunk drivers on the road, some of which I'm proud to have sponsored while in the state Senate," Congressman Snyder said. "It pleases me to know that these laws have saved potentially many lives."

These grants are authorized under the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) as incentives to enact and enforce laws that make it illegal to operate a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or greater.
