SNYDER ANNOUNCES LITTLE ROCK CONSTRUCTION CO. TO BUILD NEW CONWAY ARMY RESERVE CENTER

WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the United States Army has awarded a $5,211,600 contract to Kullander Construction Incorporated of Little Rock to build the new Army Reserve Center in Conway, Arkansas.

The estimated contract completion date is May 28, 2004.

The current Army Reserve Center in Conway is located on part of the University of Central Arkansas's campus as a result of the school's expansion, and it's not fit to store the unit's heavy equipment.

"I'm pleased to see the construction of the new Conway Army Reserve Center move forward," Congressman Snyder said. "This facility will greatly enhance the mission of the Reserve Center's combat engineer unit and will also help UCA with its very impressive growth over the last decade."

Congress approved the funds in last year's Military Construction Appropriations bill.
