SNYDER ANNOUNCES LRSD FUNDS FOR TEACHING AMERICAN HISTORY PROGRAM

WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded $995,953 to the Little Rock School District under the Teaching American History Grants Program.

The funds will be used to provide an intensive, ongoing professional development program focused on in-depth U.S. history content knowledge and teaching practices for all American history teachers in grades 5, 8, and 11 in the Little Rock School District.

"I'm pleased to see the Little Rock School District receive funds for this important project that will help teachers learn new and exciting ways to convey to students the history of our great nation," said Congressman Snyder.

The Teaching American History Grant Program supports programs to raise student achievement by improving teachers' knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of American history.
