SNYDER ANNOUNCES FUNDS FOR LIONS WORLD SERVICES FOR THE BLIND WASHINGTON, D.C. - United States Representative Vic
Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the U.S. Department of Education has
awarded $230,408 to the Lions World Services for the Blind (LWSB) in Little
Rock under the Projects With Industry Program.
The funds will be used by the LWSB to increase the employment of persons
who are severely disabled by blindness by providing them with vocational
evaluation, job skills training, and job placement assistance.
"I'm pleased to see the Lions World Services for the Blind receive these
funds to help address the problem of unemployment and under-employment of
those with severe visual impairments," said Congressman Snyder.
The Projects With Industry Program creates and expands job and career
opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the competitive labor
market.
