SNYDER ANNOUNCES FIREFIGHTER FUNDS FOR ANTIOCH, SYLVAN HILLS

WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) has awarded $133,833 to the Antioch and Sylvan Hills fire departments under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

  • Antioch Volunteer Fire Department in White County will receive $27,663 for fire operations and firefighter safety.
  • Sylvan Hills Fire Protection #6 in Pulaski County will receive $106,200 for a firefighting vehicle.

"Our firefighters put their lives at risk everyday to keep us out of harm's way," Congressman Snyder said. "It pleases me greatly to see Sylvan Hills and Antioch fire departments receive some much-needed assistance."

Additional grants will be announced in the following four categories through the end of the year: fire operations and firefighter safety, fire prevention, emergency medical services, and firefighting vehicle acquisition.
