Snyder Statement on $87 Billion Supplemental Appropriation WASHINGTON, D.C. - Snyder said, "While I believe that
the Administration has made numerous foreign policy mistakes, we are now in Iraq with our
fine men and women in uniform doing the work. We must support them, and $65 billion goes
in support of our troops.
"But if we do not also support economic and democratic development in Iraq in the aftermath
of the war, Iraq will deteriorate even further into a failed state, which poses great long-term
national security threats to our country."
