SNYDER ANNOUNCES LR, NLR HOUSING AUTHORITY FUNDS WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder
(AR-02) announced today that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
has awarded $456,535 to the housing authorities of Little Rock and North Little
Rock in Pulaski County.
Little Rock Housing Authority and North Little Rock Housing Authority were each
awarded $200,000 under the FY2002 Resident Opportunity and Self Sufficiency (ROSS)
Grant Program. These funds will provide links to support services, resident empowerment
activities, and assist residents in becoming economically self-sufficient.
North Little Rock Housing Authority was additionally awarded $56,535 under
the FY2002 ROSS Service Coordinator Renewal Grant Program, which will enable them
to continue to provide Service Coordinator staff to four public housing developments
under its jurisdiction.
Service Coordinator grants help elderly residents as well as residents with
disabilities to obtain supportive services that are needed to maintain independent
living.
