SNYDER ANNOUNCES FIREFIGHTER FUNDS

WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) has awarded $296,834 to fire departments in the 2nd Congressional District for fire operations and firefighter safety under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

  • Conway Fire Department, Faulkner County, $82,992
  • Enola Area Volunteer Fire Department, Faulkner County, $13,933
  • Searcy Fire Department, White County, $141,521
  • Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department, White County, $4,860
  • Gravel Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Pulaski County, $43,470
  • Rover Volunteer Fire Department, Yell County, $10,058

"Our firefighters put their lives at risk everyday to keep us out of harm's way," Congressman Snyder said. "It pleases me greatly to see these fire departments receive some much-needed assistance."

Additional grants will be announced in the following four categories through the end of the year: fire operations and firefighter safety, fire prevention, emergency medical services, and firefighting vehicle acquisition.
