SNYDER ANNOUNCES FIREFIGHTER FUNDS FOR JACKSONVILLE

WASHINGTON, D.C.-United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) has awarded $29,948 to the Jacksonville Fire Department under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The funds will be used for fire operations and firefighter safety.

"Our firefighters put their lives at risk everyday to keep us out of harm's way," Congressman Snyder said. "It pleases me greatly to see Jacksonville Fire Department receive some much-needed assistance."

Additional grants will be announced in the following four categories through the end of the year: fire operations and firefighter safety, fire prevention, emergency medical services, and firefighting vehicle acquisition.
