SNYDER ANNOUNCES FUNDS FOR CONWAY CO., CAMMACK, AND LAKE NORRELL

WASHINGTON, D.C. - United States Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) has awarded $148,244 to Conway County, Cammack Village, and Alexander under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

  • Conway County Fire Department in Morrilton, AR: $80,132
  • Cammack Village Fire Dept.: $21,020.
  • Lake Norrell Area Fire Protection Dist. in Alexander: $47,101

The funds are designated to improve fire operations and firefighter safety.

"Our firefighters put their lives at risk everyday to keep us out of harm's way," Congressman Snyder said. "It is important that they have the resources necessary to keep our families safe. I'm pleased to see our fire departments receive this much-needed assistance."

These funds will be used by firefighters to increase the effectiveness of firefighting operations, improve fire fighter health and safety programs, purchase new fire apparatus, enhance EMS programs, and support Fire Prevention and Safety Programs. FEMA and the USFA expect to announce a total of at least 5500 grants before the end of the calendar year. The total of all awards, when completed, will represent a $360M investment to enhance fire and EMS service delivery nationwide.

The entire list of grant recipients may be viewed on the USFA website at www.usfa.fema.gov/grants.
