Women's Issues

I am committed to protecting women's' reproductive choice. I will oppose any and all efforts that seek to curtail that right through parental notification, bans on "partial birth abortion" (a political term, not a medical one), appointing unqualified ideologues to government advisory boards, and other limitations.

Protecting the rights of women includes ensuring their safety, security and access to quality health care. I'll work to increase efforts to reduce domestic violence and increase medical research for women's health issues.

Being a women's advocate also means leading the struggle for pay equity. I will continue to support legislation assuring women of equal pay for equal work.
