August 2005

Dear Friend:

I wanted you to know about transportation improvements you’ll be seeing in our area from money I was able to direct to the East Bay in the recently-enacted transportation bill.  While it will take a greater commitment of resources and new ways of thinking about development to truly solve gridlock in the long run, clearing bottlenecks and expanding public transportation are improvements we can’t afford ignore.  I hope that this infusion of federal dollars will give you some extra time to sleep or spend with your family, or just make your commute easier and less stressful.

Sincerely,

Pete Stark
