WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Pete Stark (D-CA) today announced the appointment of Brian Cook as press secretary for his Congressional Office. Cook's appointment is effective immediately.

“We are delighted that Brian is coming on board,” said Stark. “We are eager to put his acumen and work ethic to good use.”

"I am very excited at the opportunity to work with Congressman Stark," Cook said. "I look forward to helping him continue the passionate advocacy and sound legislative achievement that has marked his very distinguished career in Congress."

Before joining Representative Stark's office, Cook served as speechwriter to Dr. John J. DeGioia, president of Georgetown University. His background in political communications includes work as speechwriter and press aide to former Governor Mark Warner of Virginia, and press secretary to U.S. Senate candidate Harris Miller.
