WASHINGTON, NOV. 12, 2007 - Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala), a senior member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, will speak at the Community Veterans Day Celebration being held at the Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park. "Our nation once again is at war and it is important to honor the dedication and sacrifice of those who were in the armed services," said Stearns. "Veterans Day gives us all the opportunity to reflect on the liberties we enjoy, the liberties defended by our nation's veterans. It is a time to thank them for their service."
The Community Veterans Day Celebration will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM. The event is open to all and students, parents, and teachers from areas schools will join in the celebration. The Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park is at 3601 SE Ft. King Street in Ocala.
