Susan advocates for lowering carbon emissions at an Earth Day gathering in Ocean Beach.
Global Warming
Global warming is a real and urgent threat to the health of our planet and the well-being of its inhabitants. Susan believes that we as human beings need to take responsibility and protect those plants and animals that are endangered because of the greenhouse gases we are releasing into the atmosphere. That is why in the 110th Congress, Susan joined Congressman Waxman and other environmental champions in sending a letter to Speaker Pelosi outlining principles to guide Congress as it produces a comprehensive global warming bill.
Since coming to Congress, Susan has worked hard to limit greenhouse gas emissions and has been proud to be a cosponsor of legislation which seeks to reduce global warming emissions through a system of caps and trades, requirements for cleaner cars, and more electricity through renewable energy and efficiency. She looks forward to supporting these efforts in the 111th Congress.
