Congresswoman Susan Davis Leads Effort for Trolley
Expansion
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-San Diego) lead the effort in Congress for continuing the expansion of the San Diego Trolley into University City. In a letter to the Department of Transportation, Davis along with Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer and members of the San Diego congressional delegation asked Secretary Ray LaHood to keep the project on track.
“This is a critical infrastructure project for San Diego,” said Davis. “It means jobs as well as increased transportation choices for people. With gas prices rising, people want more options for getting around. Expanding the trolley will provide those options and help alleviate traffic on our streets. It is also a cleaner transportation alternative.”
According to the letter, the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project, as it is known, “will improve transit services between University City, downtown San Diego and the international border, while connecting corridor resident with Trolley lines in Mission Valley and East County.”
