Names Rep. Susan Davis "Best of Congress"
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-San Diego) was named “Best of Congress” by Working Mother Magazine for the second consecutive Congress. Davis was recognized for creating a family-friendly office and for her leadership on women’s health issues.
“As a working mother and grandmother I certainly understand the challenges women face when balancing work and family,” said Davis. “I would like to thank Working Mother Magazine for this recognition and for the work it does to highlight the issues and accomplishments of working mothers across the country.”
On its website, Working Mother Magazine talked about what it loves about Davis:
“Rep. Susan Davis’s experiences as a parent, social worker, youth mentor and military spouse inform her focus on helping working families. During her tenure in Congress, she has voted to eliminate pay discrimination against women, expand health care coverage to millions of low-income children and end predatory mortgage loan practices. Davis creates a family-friendly environment in her office, offering flexible schedules, telecommuting options and an environment that is baby, child- and even pet-friendly.”
Davis was also honored as a “Best of Congress” in the 111th Congress in 2010.
