TANNER RECOGNIZED BY
DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS

Congressman John Tanner's Legislative Director Doug Thompson (left) accepts the award from Disabled American Veterans Tennessee State Commander Stephen Dagistino.

The Disabled American Veterans' Department of Tennessee today presented an award to U.S. Rep. John Tanner.

Doug Thompson, Congressman Tanner's Legislative Director, accepted the award on Congressman Tanner's behalf.  At the time of the presentation, Congressman Tanner was en route home from a meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, Belgium.

"I regret I was not able to accept this award in person," Tanner said.  "I certainly appreciate the award and all the work Disabled American Veterans do for veterans.  I look forward to continuing a strong working relationship with the group, its members and all the veterans in Tennessee."

The award acknowledges Congressman Tanner's "support of veterans', dependents' and survivors' legislation."

Tanner is a former Navy lieutenant and a retired member of the Tennessee National Guard.
