TANNER TO LEAD DELEGATION TO NATO

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. John Tanner will lead a Congressional delegation to meetings of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Portugal, Tunisia and Morocco from May 25 – June 4. The meetings will cover ongoing NATO operations in Afghanistan, the global threat of terrorism and other topics of mutual interest among North American and European countries.

A veteran of the United States Navy and the Tennessee Army National Guard, Tanner was named chairman of the U.S. delegation to NATO earlier this year.

Tanner, who represents the 8^th Congressional district in west and middle Tennessee, also serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
