278th “Celebrate Freedom” Parade

The 2006 Dogwood Arts Festivals “Celebrate Freedom” Parade was held Saturday to welcome home the nearly 2000 heroes from their recent deployment to IRAQ and honor the 278th Regimental Combat team with their battle streamers.  Congressman Wamp joined Governor Phil Bredesen, Major General Gus Hargett, Col Dennis Adams, Senator Lamar Alexander and fellow members of the TN delegation Reps John Duncan, Harold Ford Jr. and Lincoln Davis in the celebration. “Members of the 278th are just regular citizens who volunteered to serve their country.  It was an honor to welcome these soldiers back home and just say thanks to the men and women in uniform for the sacrifices they’ve made,” Zach said.
