Chattanooga needs new, high-speed Choo-Choo
October 30 – Running initially from Chattanooga to Atlanta, the rail line would serve as a foundation for the region the way that riverfront development centers Chattanooga’s downtown core today. The good news is that nobody has to sell Rep. Zach Wamp. He has been actively involved in trying to coax his colleagues on board.

Congressman Zach Wamp's office released a photo from a meeting with NNSA Administrator Tom D'Agostino. According to information provided by Wamp's staff, the two discussed the Nuclear Posture Review and plans to "modernize or modify" the U.S. nuclear weapons complex.

Heart of the nation's security
November 2 – A digital message from Rep. Zach Wamp was broadcast to a nearly filled auditorium celebrating the first National Day of Remembrance at the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge. Similar programs were held in several cities across the U.S. to honor nuclear weapons program workers, uranium miners and haulers, many of whom have suffered the results of exposure to workplace toxins.

Healthcare Reform Should Lower, Not Raise Costs
October 29 – “The goal of health care reform should be lowering costs and giving Americans more control of their health care decisions,” said Congressman Wamp. “But the Democrats’ 1,990 page bill actually increases the cost of health insurance. It raises taxes on middle class families, cuts Medicare benefits for seniors and imposes an additional tax burden on small businesses, among other things, on the way to a government takeover of health care.”

Rowland is ‘Community Leader of Year’
October 21
Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland was named “Community Leader of the Year” by the Tennessee Community Organizations network. At the ceremony, Kevin Brooks read a congratulatory letter from Congressman Zach Wamp.  Wamp said, “Thank you Tom, for outstanding service to your city, state and nation.”
