Military Academy Nominations

As you may know, students wishing to attend a service academy must be nominated for admission.  The only exception is the United States Coast Guard Academy.  As a Member of Congress I am able to nominate five young men and women to each service academy every year.

To apply for a nomination to a United States Military Academy you must:

• Be unmarried
• Be between the ages of 17 and 22
• Be a resident Oregon's First Congressional District

Please send the following information:

• Service academy of choice
• A brief essay on why you would like to attend a service academy
• Full name, address, and contact information
• Date and place of birth
• Names of parents
• Social security number
• High school grade point average, class standing, class size
• Transcripts through junior year
• SAT-I or ACT scores
• Three letters of recommendation
• Resume of extracurricular activities

*** The deadline for submitting the information required to complete your application for the class of 2011 is November 2, 2007.  All applications must be postmarked by this date.  Interviews will be scheduled shortly thereafter, likely Saturday, November 17, 2007.
