As you know, the House and Senate are considering major legislation to reform health care coverage for all Americans. Three House committees and two Senate committees are considering differing versions of this legislation. It is unclear at this point how the House and Senate leadership will merge these bills into one version that the full House and full Senate could vote on later this year. Although I am not a member of these three committees, I am focused on what the House may be asked to consider and I have spent the last few weeks reading and reviewing the three House bills which total more than 3,000 pages and include 76 amendments approved by the Committees.
Below are links to the versions of each bill approved by the three committees as well as actual video of the committee meetings. It is my hope that this will help you understand the complexity of the issues and the legislative process. If after reviewing this information you have some thoughts about the legislation, I would welcome your input. You can write to me at bill.young@mail.house.gov.
