The Congressional Oversight Commission is seeking a Chief Clerk to provide financial, administrative, and operational support to the Commission. The Commission is a bipartisan legislative branch panel created by the CARES Act to conduct oversight of the implementation of $500 billion in economic stabilization funds by the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing the Commission’s budget; preparation and processing of vouchers for payment of Commission expenses and travel reimbursements; handling payroll transactions; processing incoming and outgoing staff; maintaining personnel files and financial data; managing administrative preparations and operations of Commission meetings and hearings; maintaining and assisting in the production of official Commission reports, letters, and records; and overseeing various general administrative functions for the Commission. This is a non-partisan position. The position requires discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive Commission matters, as well as being well-organized with a strong attention to detail. Ideal candidate should have previous Congressional experience, ideally in a committee clerk or office management position, with a background in budget and financial management and knowledge of Congressional administrative rules and procedures.
