Job Summary:

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.


As a manager within the Asset Management directorate, you will directly contribute to the ongoing modernization of House technology and business processes while completing various aspects of daily operations. Successful candidates will have experience with customer service, inventory reconciliations, internal controls, automated accounting systems, staff development, and communication to diverse audiences.


The position has day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.


Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage the House Asset Services team by supporting the accuracy and completeness of equipment inventories

• Lead staff in providing excellent customer service support to Members, Committees, and Leadership

• Assist Members with equipment purchases, transfers, deliveries, and removals

• Maintain knowledge of CAO and GSA services, serving as the escalation point for complex requests

• Record assets accurately in Peoplesoft to comply with Federal and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Ensure proper stewardship over all House accountable assets

• Supervise the inventory account reconciliation process

• Assist with providing audit information

• Provide subject matter expertise during Transition for Member and Staff meetings

• Implement industry best practices to innovate fixed asset management processes

• Assist with special projects

• ?Performs other official duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Accounting or Business Management preferred

• Minimum 5 years management experience preferred

• Minimum 3 years of Fixed Asset and/or Inventory Management experience

• Experience in a Customer service environment preferred

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial management

• Experience working with various automated accounting systems, PeopleSoft preferred

• Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Capability to manage multiple high-priority tasks at once

• Willingness to take on new opportunities and be open to change

• Meet all applicable U.S. government employment eligibility requirements
